A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of certain money deposited to the state highway |
|
|
fund for transportation projects in energy-producing regions of |
|
|
this state. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 222, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 222.007 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 222.007. ENERGY-PRODUCING REGIONS ACCOUNT. (a) The |
|
|
comptroller shall credit 25 percent of the money deposited to the |
|
|
state highway fund under Section 49-g(c), Article III, Texas |
|
|
Constitution, to an account in that fund known as the |
|
|
energy-producing regions account. |
|
|
(b) Money in the energy-producing regions account may be |
|
|
appropriated only to pay for constructing, maintaining, or |
|
|
acquiring rights-of-way for local public roadways, other than toll |
|
|
roads, in energy-producing regions of this state. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
