A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the commission of family violence as grounds for an
  annulment of a marriage.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 6, Family Code, is amended
  by adding Section 6.1101 to read as follows:
         Sec. 6.1101.  FAMILY VIOLENCE. The court may grant an
  annulment of a marriage to a party to the marriage if the court
  finds that the other party to the marriage has committed family
  violence, as defined by Section 71.004, against the party.
         SECTION 2.  The change in law made by this Act applies to a
  marriage regardless of whether the marriage was entered into
  before, on, or after the effective date of this Act.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
