A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the eligibility for unemployment compensation benefits |
|
|
of a state military forces member on release from training or duty. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 207, Labor Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 207.052 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 207.052. RELEASE OF STATE MILITARY FORCES MEMBER FROM |
|
|
TRAINING OR DUTY. (a) In this section, "state military forces" has |
|
|
the meaning assigned by Section 437.001, Government Code. |
|
|
(b) A state military forces member who is released from |
|
|
training or duty as described by Section 437.204(a), Government |
|
|
Code, and who is not otherwise employed by the Texas Military |
|
|
Department is not eligible for benefits on the member's release. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
