A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the eligibility for unemployment compensation benefits
  of a state military forces member on release from training or duty.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 207, Labor Code, is
  amended by adding Section 207.052 to read as follows:
         Sec. 207.052.  RELEASE OF STATE MILITARY FORCES MEMBER FROM
  TRAINING OR DUTY. (a) In this section, "state military forces" has
  the meaning assigned by Section 437.001, Government Code.
         (b)  A state military forces member who is released from
  training or duty as described by Section 437.204(a), Government
  Code, and who is not otherwise employed by the Texas Military
  Department is not eligible for benefits on the member's release.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
