A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to job performance on behalf of a fire fighter or police |
|
|
officer during illness or injury. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 143.073, Local Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by amending Subsection (e) and adding Subsection (f) to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(e) After recovery from a temporary disability, a fire |
|
|
fighter or police officer shall be reinstated at the same rank and |
|
|
with the same seniority the person had before going on temporary |
|
|
leave. |
|
|
(f) Another fire fighter or police officer may voluntarily |
|
|
do the work of a [an injured] fire fighter or police officer who is |
|
|
on leave under this section until the person returns to duty. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
