A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to information notices regarding unemployment benefits. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 208.001, Labor Code, is amended by |
|
|
amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(b) The commission shall supply, without cost to each |
|
|
employer, printed notices that contain the information described by |
|
|
Subsection (c) [provide general information about filing a claim
|
|
|
for unemployment benefits]. Each employer shall post and maintain |
|
|
the notices in places accessible to the individuals in the employ of |
|
|
the employer. |
|
|
(c) The notices must provide general information about |
|
|
filing a claim for unemployment benefits, including information |
|
|
regarding: |
|
|
(1) the eligibility requirements for receiving |
|
|
unemployment benefits; and |
|
|
(2) the potential availability of unemployment |
|
|
benefits for individuals who are partially unemployed due to a |
|
|
decrease in the individua |
|
|
l's work hours. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2015, the Texas |
|
|
Workforce Commission shall update the commission's information |
|
|
notices to comply with Section 208.001, Labor Code, as amended by |
|
|
this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
