A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to regulating the sale of batteries to metal recycling |
|
|
entities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 1956.001, Occupations Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subdivision (1-a) and amending Subdivision (9) to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(1-a) "Battery" means a device that contains one or |
|
|
more electrically connected electrochemical cells and is designed |
|
|
to receive, store, and deliver electric energy. |
|
|
(9) "Regulated material" means: |
|
|
(A) aluminum material; |
|
|
(B) bronze material; |
|
|
(C) copper or brass material; [or] |
|
|
(D) regulated metal; or |
|
|
(E) a battery. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
