A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
Relating to the cost of education index. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 42.102, Chapter 42, Education Code is |
|
|
amended by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(b) Except as provided in Subsection (c), the cost of |
|
|
education index adjustment adopted by the foundation school fund |
|
|
budget committee and contained in Chapter 203, Title 19, Texas |
|
|
Administrative Code, as that chapter existed on March 26, 1997. |
|
|
(c) The commissioner shall adjust the index in Subsection |
|
|
(b) to reflect the cost of windstorm insurance. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
