A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

|
relating to the participation in the countywide polling place |
|
|
program. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 43.007(i), Election Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(i) The secretary of state may [only] select any county to |
|
|
participate in the program and may not limit the number of [six] |
|
|
counties that may participate in the program [with a population of
|
|
|
100,000 or more and four counties with a population of less than
|
|
|
100,000]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
