A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to studies and reports on immunization exemptions. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 38, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 38.0028 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 38.0028. IMMUNIZATION EXEMPTIONS AND VACCINE |
|
|
PREVENTABLE DISEASE OUTBREAKS; REPORTING. (a) The Department of |
|
|
State Health Services, using the required annual report submitted |
|
|
by all schools under Section 38.002(c) and any other relevant |
|
|
resources, shall create a biennial report on vaccination exemptions |
|
|
and any outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases. |
|
|
(b) The department shall make the report described by |
|
|
Subsection (a) available on the department's Internet website not |
|
|
later than December 1 of each even-numbered year. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The Department of State Health Services shall |
|
|
post the initial report required by Section 38.0028, Education |
|
|
Code, as added by this Act, not later than December 1, 2016. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
