A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to the creation of an Internet website clearinghouse for |
|
school districts to post information to comply with publication |
|
requirements. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 7, Education Code, is |
|
amended by adding Section 7.042 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 7.042. INTERNET WEBSITE CLEARINGHOUSE FOR SCHOOL |
|
DISTRICT INFORMATION. (a) The agency shall develop and maintain an |
|
Internet website clearinghouse, separate from the agency's |
|
Internet website, for the public to access school district and |
|
campus reports, notices, and other information that a school |
|
district or campus is required by law to publish. |
|
(b) The agency shall create a web page for each school |
|
district on the Internet website clearinghouse. Each school |
|
district may post on the district's web page on the website any |
|
report, notice, or other information that the district is required |
|
to publish. Each school district may designate district personnel |
|
with authority to enter reports, notices, and other information on |
|
the district's web page. |
|
(c) Notwithstanding any other law, a school district that |
|
posts a report, notice, or other information on the district's web |
|
page on the Internet website clearinghouse created under this |
|
section that is required by law to be published by a school district |
|
or campus satisfies that publication requirement if the report, |
|
notice, or information remains posted for the period as prescribed |
|
by law. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
