A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to prohibiting the online posting of certain documents |
|
submitted to the chief appraiser of an appraisal district in an |
|
application for an exemption from ad valorem taxation. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 11, Tax Code, is amended by |
|
adding Section 11.49 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 11.49. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS. (a) In this section, |
|
"supporting document" means a document required by this code or |
|
other law to be filed with the chief appraiser to demonstrate a |
|
person's eligibility for an exemption from ad valorem taxation. |
|
(b) The chief appraiser may not post on the appraisal |
|
district's Internet website a supporting document included with an |
|
application for an exemption filed with the chief appraiser. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
