A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to expanding the memorial sign program for motorcyclists |
|
|
to include bicyclists. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. The heading to Section 201.911, Transportation |
|
|
Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 201.911. MEMORIAL SIGN PROGRAM FOR MOTORCYCLISTS AND |
|
|
BICYCLISTS. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Sections 201.911(a) and (b), Transportation |
|
|
Code, are amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) In this section, "victim" means a person killed in a |
|
|
highway accident while operating or riding on a motorcycle or |
|
|
riding on a bicycle. |
|
|
(b) The commission by rule shall establish and administer a |
|
|
memorial sign program to publicly memorialize the victims of |
|
|
motorcycle and bicycle accidents. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
