A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to unfair settlement practices for insurers providing |
|
|
workers' compensation insurance. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 542.003, Insurance Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) This section applies to an insurance carrier, as that |
|
|
term is defined by Section 401.011, Labor Code, providing workers' |
|
|
compensation insurance. Subsection (b)(6) does not apply to the |
|
|
insurance carrier if the division of workers' compensation of the |
|
|
department determines that the insurance carrier is in compliance |
|
|
with division rules relating to access to workers' |
|
|
compensation-related records and information. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
