A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to supervision of the conduct of a primary election; |
|
|
creating an offense. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 31.092, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
|
(f) A county election officer commits an offense if the |
|
|
election officer prevents the county chair or the county chair's |
|
|
designee from supervising the conduct of the primary election, |
|
|
including the tabulation of results, as required by Chapter 172. An |
|
|
offense under this subsection is a Class B misdemeanor. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
