A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the development of the Interstate Highway 635 East |
|
|
project in Dallas County. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 250, Transportation Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Section 250.002 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 250.002. INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 635 EAST PROJECT PROVISIONS. |
|
|
(a) In this section, "project" means the Interstate Highway 635 |
|
|
East project from United States Highway 75 to Interstate Highway 30 |
|
|
in Dallas County. |
|
|
(b) In developing the project, the department shall: |
|
|
(1)construct and maintain, from U.S. Highway 75 to |
|
|
Interstate Highway 30: |
|
|
(A) a minimum of at least two continuous frontage |
|
|
roads in each direction; |
|
|
(B) a minimum of ten (five in each direction) |
|
|
general-purpose, non-restricted, non-revenue generating general |
|
|
purpose free main lanes; |
|
|
(C) noise walls and noise abatement measures for |
|
|
residential neighborhoods along the corridor; |
|
|
(D) enhanced access to and along the frontage |
|
|
roads; |
|
|
(E) the IH-635 East and IH-30 interchange with |
|
|
continuous frontage roads in anticipation of the IH-30 project; |
|
|
(2) The department is responsible for project costs |
|
|
for rights-of-way acquisition and municipal utility relocation. |
|
|
(c) The Commission may not exercise its discretion in |
|
|
