A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to display of the Texas flag on municipal historical |
|
|
monuments on municipal property. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 3100.054, Government Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 3100.054. DISPLAY ON FLAGPOLE OR FLAGSTAFF WITH OTHER |
|
|
FLAG: IN GENERAL. (a) A flag or pennant, other than the flag of the |
|
|
United States, displayed with the state flag: |
|
|
(1) should not be above the state flag; or |
|
|
(2) if the other flag or pennant is at the same height |
|
|
as the state flag, should not be, from the perspective of an |
|
|
observer, to the left of the state flag. |
|
|
(b) Subsection (a)(2) does not apply to a state flag |
|
|
displayed on a municipal historical monument located on municipal |
|
|
property. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
