A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to additional state aid for school districts that provide
  social security coverage for district employees.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter E, Chapter 42, Education Code, is
  amended by adding Section 42.25141 to read as follows:
         Sec. 42.25141.  ADDITIONAL STATE AID FOR SOCIAL SECURITY
  CONTRIBUTIONS. (a) This section applies only to a school district
  that provided social security coverage, as defined by Section
  606.001, Government Code, for district employees during the 2014
  calendar year.
         (b)  For each school year, a school district, including a
  school district that is otherwise ineligible for state aid under
  this chapter, is entitled to state aid in an amount equal to the
  district's cost of paying contributions in the 2015-2016 and each
  subsequent school year for a class of employees covered under the
  social security program during the 2014 calendar year.
         (b-1)  The amount of state aid to which a school district is
  entitled under this section is in addition to the amount of revenue
  to which the district is entitled under Section 42.2516(b). This
  subsection expires September 1, 2017.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
