H.C.R. No. 146
 
 
 
HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Charles and Margaret
  Semple of Midland will mark this joyous milestone on July 31, 2015;
  and
         WHEREAS, Charles Semple and the former Margaret Wunsch met
  while attending Texas Christian University, and they were united in
  matrimony at a ceremony on that memorable day in 1965; over the
  years, they became the parents of two sons, Charles Semple and Brian
  Semple, and today their fine family has grown to include three
  grandchildren, Charles, Henry, and Edward Semple, and one
  daughter-in-law, Carrie Semple; and
         WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Semple
  has been employed as a stockbroker, landman, and investor in the oil
  and gas industry, and Mrs. Semple has worked as a schoolteacher and
  real estate broker while also devoting herself to her home and
  family; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Semple have enjoyed traveling across
  the globe and visiting their grandkids and other loved ones;
  Mr. Semple spends his free time hunting, fishing, and restoring
  vintage cars, and he regularly hosts friends and family in his
  garage for Monday Night Football parties; Mrs. Semple volunteers
  with the Junior League of Midland and at First Baptist Church, and
  her diverse interests include photography, quilting, needlepoint,
  and attending book club with her friends; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Semple have enjoyed five decades of
  abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 84th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby congratulate Charles and Margaret Semple on their 50th
  wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives and Senate.
