A JOINT RESOLUTION
  proposing a constitutional amendment prohibiting a county or other
  political subdivision from eliminating offices or changing
  district boundaries between the primary and general elections.
         BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Article VI, Texas Constitution, is amended by
  adding Section 7 to read as follows:
         Sec. 7.  During the period beginning on the general primary
  election day and ending on the following general election day, a
  county or any political subdivision of this state whose officers
  are selected from candidates nominated at a primary election may
  not:
               (1)  abolish or declare dormant an office of the county
  or other political subdivision; or
               (2)  change the boundaries of a district from which an
  officer of the county or other political subdivision is elected.
         SECTION 2.  This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
  submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 3, 2015.
  The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the
  proposition: "The constitutional amendment prohibiting a county or
  other political subdivision from eliminating offices or changing
  district boundaries between the primary and general elections."
