R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and |
|
|
meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends |
|
|
of Betty Jo Davis of Alto, who passed away on January 8, 2015, at the |
|
|
age of 76; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Alto on June 1, 1938, to Lonnie and Sally |
|
|
Compton Pyle, the former Betty Jo Pyle was raised in nearby Weches |
|
|
with her sisters, Kay, Nollie, Maxine, and Maybell, and her |
|
|
brothers, W. L. and Richard; she exchanged wedding vows with Larry |
|
|
Davis in 1955, and the couple became the proud parents of three |
|
|
children, Larry, Chris, and Teresa; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For many years Mrs. Davis traveled the country with |
|
|
her husband as he pursued his work in the concrete industry; she was |
|
|
devoted to her family and home, and she was a valued member of A. |
|
|
Frank Smith United Methodist Church, where she served as president |
|
|
of the Women's Guild; she also participated in the Thursday Study |
|
|
Club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Betty Jo Davis lived a caring and purposeful life, |
|
|
and those who were blessed to share in her love and affection will |
|
|
forever hold her close to their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Betty Jo Davis and |
|
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband |
|
|
of 59 years, Larry G. Davis; to her children, Larry Joe Davis and |
|
|
his wife, Kim, Chris Davis and his wife, Jay Anna, and Teresa Cox |
|
|
and her husband, Steve; to her grandchildren, Seth Davis and his |
|
|
wife, Kasandra, Garrett, Grant, Creager, and Adam Davis, and |
|
|
Caroline, Cameron, and Annie Cox; to her great-granddaughter, Faith |
|
|
Ann Davis; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Betty Jo |
|
|
Davis. |
