R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may help |
|
to comfort those saddened by the death of Charles Fisher White of |
|
Baytown on December 1, 2014, at the age of 84; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Ingleside on October 21, 1930, to William |
|
and Viola White, Charles White grew up in Baytown, where he |
|
continued to reside for the rest of his life; a graduate of Robert |
|
E. Lee High School, he earned a business degree from The University |
|
of Texas; in 1955, he founded White Supply Company, which he |
|
operated until his retirement in 1990; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. White was an active member of the Rotary Club of |
|
Baytown for more than 50 years; recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow |
|
by the organization, he was further honored when the club |
|
established a Service Above Self scholarship in his name; in his |
|
leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking photographs, |
|
and he was especially fond of sharing stories and jokes; and |
|
WHEREAS, For nearly six decades, Mr. White enjoyed the love |
|
and support of his wife, the former Shirley Stassi; they were the |
|
proud parents of three children, Lu Ann, Mark, and Matthew, and in |
|
later years, Mr. White delighted in the company of his seven |
|
grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Charles White treasured the time he spent in the |
|
company of his family and friends, and those he leaves behind will |
|
in turn cherish their memories of this kind and caring man; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature pay tribute to the life of Charles Fisher White and |
|
extend sincere condolences to his family: to his daughter, Lu Ann |
|
Shank, and her husband, Mark; to his sons, Mark White and his wife, |
|
Karen, and Matthew White and his wife, Stacey; to his |
|
grandchildren, Katie, Aden, and Christian Shank and Sara, Samantha, |
|
Cullen, and Avery White; to his nieces and nephews, Ann Landolt, |
|
Alison Cotton, Stacy and Michael Dienst, Bill and Greg White, Robyn |
|
Halbrook, Stephen Wood, and Michelle Mouck; and to his other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Charles |
|
Fisher White. |
