R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Detective Laurie Griswold retired from the
  Georgetown Police Department on November 26, 2014, drawing to a
  close a notable career in law enforcement that spanned 20 years; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Griswold completed police academy training and
  joined the Georgetown Police Department in 1994; she went on to
  distinguish herself in a range of duties over her two decades with
  the department, initially working as a patrol officer before
  earning a promotion to detective; and
         WHEREAS, The longest-tenured female officer at the
  department, she often shared her expertise as a mentor to new
  officers and other members of GPD; in retirement, she looks forward
  to spending time with her grandchildren and pursuing a longtime
  interest in woodworking; and
         WHEREAS, Detective Griswold's dedication, professionalism,
  and commitment to the safety and welfare of the public have greatly
  benefited the citizens of Georgetown and earned her the respect and
  admiration of her fellow officers, and she may indeed take pride in
  a career well spent; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Laurie Griswold on her retirement
  from the Georgetown Police Department and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Detective Griswold as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
