R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed a |
|
special occasion, and Earline Laura Moore of Cameron marked this |
|
significant milestone in her life with family and friends on |
|
January 5, 2015; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Troy in 1915, the former Earline Thompson is |
|
the daughter of Earl and Laura Thompson; she was joined in matrimony |
|
to J. D. Moore in 1936, and they became the proud parents of two |
|
treasured children, Franklin and Darlene; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Moores first moved to Cameron in 1942, and after |
|
World War II, the family settled permanently in the community; |
|
Mrs. Moore devoted herself to her home and family while supporting |
|
her husband in his endeavors as the longtime Milam County extension |
|
agent; in addition, she was a founding member of the garden club, |
|
and she was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where she |
|
directed the nursery school; and |
|
WHEREAS, Blessed with the affection of a host of loved ones |
|
and sustained by her strong faith, Earline Moore has gracefully |
|
reached the century mark and continues to enrich the lives of all |
|
who are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Earline Laura Moore on her 100th |
|
birthday; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Moore as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
