R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The wisdom and experience of centenarians are a |
|
source of enduring inspiration, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor |
|
Ninfa Uribe Ramirez of Laredo as she joins this elite group of |
|
Texans; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in San Ygnacio on February 4, 1915, the former |
|
Ninfa Uribe is the youngest daughter of Blas Maria Uribe II and |
|
Petrita G. Uribe and a descendant of a founder of San Ygnacio; in |
|
1945, she married Amado Ramirez, and the couple shared in the joy of |
|
raising two sons, Amado and Victor; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Ramirez dedicated herself to teaching for many |
|
years before retiring; she has traveled widely, and today she |
|
enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and doing crossword |
|
puzzles; she also loves cats and chocolate candy; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ninfa Uribe Ramirez has witnessed a panorama of |
|
change during a historic century, and her 100th birthday offers a |
|
welcome opportunity for her friends and family to acknowledge the |
|
special place she holds in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ninfa Uribe Ramirez on the joyous |
|
occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness and good fortune; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Ramirez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
