R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Alyssa Little of Keller has attained the Girl Scout |
|
|
Gold Award, the organization's highest commendation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Little, of Troop |
|
|
No. 3371, successfully met a series of requirements emphasizing |
|
|
community service, personal and spiritual growth, positive values, |
|
|
and leadership skills; in addition, she planned and implemented a |
|
|
Girl Scout Gold Award project that involved building a 6-by-15-foot |
|
|
storage unit for the Keller High School color guard team; she |
|
|
devoted more than 84 hours to the completion of this project and |
|
|
developed a keen understanding of the importance of time |
|
|
management, the benefits of business relationships, and the value |
|
|
of giving back; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By encouraging young women to build confidence, |
|
|
explore career opportunities, and become more socially conscious, |
|
|
the Girl Scout program is helping its participants to achieve their |
|
|
greatest potential as engaged citizens and leaders; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Little has |
|
|
demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest |
|
|
ideals of the Girl Scout organization, and she indeed merits |
|
|
special recognition for her achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Alyssa Little on earning the Girl |
|
|
Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Little as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
