R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Shelley Snyder is retiring from the YMCA of
  Metropolitan Fort Worth in 2015, drawing to a close a distinguished
  career in which she has provided outstanding service to that
  organization and to the young people of Fort Worth; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Snyder first joined the staff of the YMCA 28
  years ago, and she has been with the Fort Worth YMCA for nearly a
  quarter century; during her exemplary tenure, she has served as
  vice president of operations and has played an essential role in the
  organization's efforts; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her other responsibilities,
  Ms. Snyder has devoted 15 years to overseeing Fort Worth Youth and
  Government; more than 4,500 individuals have taken part in this
  youth-led, experiential initiative that is designed to increase
  their understanding of civic affairs and to help them become
  responsible citizens; under Ms. Snyder's leadership, the District
  IV program has fielded 10 Youth Governors and has expanded to
  include middle school and home school students; and
         WHEREAS, In recognition of her achievements, Ms. Snyder
  received the Bill Theiss Award at the Youth and Government State
  Conference; this prestigious honor is presented to a YMCA staff
  member who has made important contributions to the program at the
  local and state levels; and
         WHEREAS, Shelley Snyder's conscientiousness,
  professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the mission and
  values of the YMCA have earned her the admiration of her coworkers
  and the gratitude of countless youth, and she may reflect with pride
  on a job well done as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her
  life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Shelley Snyder on her retirement
  from the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for continued happiness and success in all her
  endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Snyder as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
