R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the Top Gears robotics team at the |
|
Harmony Science Academy of Laredo have earned well-deserved |
|
recognition for their outstanding performance in FIRST LEGO League |
|
competition in 2015; and |
|
WHEREAS, The team was awarded first place honors at the FIRST |
|
LEGO League Qualifier held on January 24 at Gutierrez Middle School |
|
in Harlingen, where it competed in robot design, project, core |
|
values, and robot game events; with its triumph, the Top Gears group |
|
earned the right to represent its school at the FLL National |
|
Super-Regional, to be held in March at the Henry B. Gonzalez |
|
Convention Center in San Antonio; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Top Gears robotics team is composed of |
|
sixth-grade students who work together to build and program robots, |
|
while at the same time developing their project research and |
|
management skills; team members include Jesus Guajardo, Jose |
|
Calderon, Nikole Munson, Jovana Ramos, Miguel Cisneros, Roger |
|
Caballero, David Chavez, Matthew Dunivant, and Mauricio Mendoza; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Through their involvement in robotics, these |
|
talented young Texans have demonstrated great initiative and |
|
ability, and they may indeed look forward to a future bright with |
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Harmony Science Academy Top |
|
Gears robotics team on its success in FIRST LEGO League qualifying |
|
competition and extend to all those associated with the team |
|
sincere best wishes for continued achievement; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
