R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Edwin Trevathan has deservedly been appointed |
|
|
executive vice president and provost of Baylor University, and this |
|
|
achievement indeed merits special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A pediatric neurologist, Dr. Trevathan currently |
|
|
serves as dean of the College for Public Health and Social Justice |
|
|
at Saint Louis University; previously, he was a professor of |
|
|
neurology and pediatrics in the School of Medicine at Washington |
|
|
University, where he directed both the Pediatric Epilepsy Center |
|
|
and the Division of Pediatric and Developmental Neurology; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Trevathan's distinguished career has also |
|
|
included tenures as neurologist-in-chief at St. Louis Children's |
|
|
Hospital and as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and |
|
|
Prevention National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental |
|
|
Disabilities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The dedication and expertise of Dr. Edwin Trevathan |
|
|
have greatly benefited his students, colleagues, and patients over |
|
|
the years, and the experience he has acquired along the way will |
|
|
serve him well as he takes on this challenging new role; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Dr. Edwin Trevathan on being named |
|
|
executive vice president and provost of Baylor University and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Trevathan as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
