R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The 80th annual Nueces County Junior Livestock Show |
|
|
took place in Robstown from January 9 through 18, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This event is sponsored each year by the Nueces |
|
|
County Junior Livestock Show Association, which promotes education |
|
|
in agriculture, homemaking, and industry through its support of |
|
|
such organizations as 4-H, FFA, and the Family, Career and |
|
|
Community Leaders of America; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to the livestock show, the NCJLS |
|
|
features a multitude of family activities; the 2015 event included |
|
|
a parade, a dog show, barbecue cook-offs for kids and NCJLS alumni, |
|
|
and the Blazin' Boot 5K Run-Walk, which raised proceeds in behalf of |
|
|
the show's alumni; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For eight decades, the Nueces County Junior |
|
|
Livestock Show has been a highly anticipated community tradition |
|
|
that serves up a Texas-sized helping of fun while contributing to |
|
|
the education of area students; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 2015 Nueces County Junior |
|
|
Livestock Show and congratulate the festival's organizers and |
|
|
volunteers on a job well done. |
