R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Robert and Gay McGregor of Mount |
|
|
Pleasant celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on September 12, |
|
|
2014; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert McGregor and the former Gay King were united |
|
|
in matrimony in 1949; through the years, they have nurtured a |
|
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
|
addition of their children, Judy Fuquay, Dean McGregor and his |
|
|
wife, Kelly, and Debra Thompson and her husband, Sonny; later in |
|
|
life, they have been blessed with five grandchildren and six |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A veteran of World War II, Mr. McGregor was a truck |
|
|
driver until his retirement, and Mrs. McGregor worked as a waitress |
|
|
and in a sewing factory; strong in their religious faith, they have |
|
|
been members of Highland Park Baptist Church for more than half a |
|
|
century; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six |
|
|
and a half decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained |
|
|
constant in their commitment to each other, and the strength of |
|
|
their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and |
|
|
opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert and Gay McGregor on their |
|
|
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
