R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed a
  special occasion, and Ruth Henderson Johnson of Victoria is marking
  this momentous milestone in her life on March 28, 2015; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Hochheim in 1915 to Frank and Cornelia
  Henderson, the former Ruth Henderson grew up in Dewitt County with
  her twin sister, Ruby; on August 24, 1933, she was joined in
  matrimony to Alvin Johnson in Cuero; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson became the proud mother of four
  children, Alvin, Henry, Wilma, and Oscar, and she has also played a
  maternal role in the lives of her twin's many offspring; today, she
  is the treasured matriarch of a fine family that has grown to
  include 13 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 21
  great-great-grandchildren, a great-great-great-grandchild, and a
  great-great-great-great-grandchild; and
         WHEREAS, A resident of Victoria for more than seven decades,
  Mrs. Johnson has inspired innumerable people through her kindness
  and goodwill; she is a longtime congregant of Bethlehem Baptist
  Church and a member of the Pleasant Green Extension Club; over the
  years, her favorite hobbies have included quilting and making fig
  preserves; and
         WHEREAS, Blessed with the affection of a host of loved ones
  and sustained by her strong faith, Ruth Johnson has gracefully
  reached the century mark and continues to enrich the lives of all
  who are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ruth Henderson Johnson on the
  occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
