R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The year 2015 marks the 30th anniversary of the
  founding of the Abandoned Cemetery Association of Parker County;
  and
         WHEREAS, Formed in 1985, the ACA is dedicated to renovating
  cemeteries that have fallen into disrepair over time; the
  organization maintains or supervises some 76 burial grounds in
  Parker County, and its volunteers contribute to the beautification
  of those sites by mowing, removing dead trees, erecting fences, and
  restoring monuments; and
         WHEREAS, The ACA's outstanding work has helped piece together
  the history of the region obscured by incomplete census records;
  many of the memorials preserved by the association document
  pioneers who lived in the area even before the founding of Parker
  County in 1855, and these gravestones also provide examples of the
  folk art, craftsmanship, and religious customs of early settlers;
  and
         WHEREAS, Through its notable efforts, the ACA pays great
  respect to previous generations of Parker County residents and
  provides a vital link to the area's past, and it is most fitting to
  honor the association on the occasion of this significant
  milestone; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 30th anniversary of the
  Abandoned Cemetery Association of Parker County, and extend to all
  those involved with the organization sincere appreciation for their
  important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
