R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may |
|
temper the profound sadness felt by the family and friends of |
|
Dr. Bruce D. Krutsinger of Houston, who passed away on July 9, 2014, |
|
at the age of 56; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Yuma, Colorado, on November 25, 1957, to Jerry |
|
Dean and Louise Krutsinger, Bruce Krutsinger was raised in western |
|
Nebraska, where he learned the value of discipline and hard work at |
|
an early age; he developed an interest in becoming an optometrist |
|
while in high school, and he went on to earn his undergraduate degree |
|
in 1980 at the University of Nebraska--Lincoln; he subsequently |
|
attended optometry school at the University of Houston and worked as |
|
an optician before graduating in 1984; and |
|
WHEREAS, A diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, |
|
Dr. Krutsinger gave generously of his time and talents in behalf of |
|
several professional organizations; he served as a member of the |
|
Texas Optometric Association Board of Trustees from 2007 to 2011 |
|
and as president of the Harris County Optometric Society from 2009 |
|
to 2011, in addition to holding the post of HCOS legislative |
|
coordinator for more than two decades, until 2012; Dr. Krutsinger's |
|
soft-spoken, respectful manner belied the determination he brought |
|
to each task and challenge laid before him, and he took special |
|
pleasure in sharing his passion for optometry with everyone from |
|
patients to lawmakers; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, this esteemed Texan enjoyed |
|
the love and support of his wife of 27 years, Marsha Krutsinger; the |
|
couple delighted in visiting family in Illinois, Tennessee, and |
|
California and in spending vacation time back in Nebraska; and |
|
WHEREAS, While Dr. Bruce Krutsinger's journey on this earth |
|
ended far too soon, he will always be remembered with great |
|
tenderness and affection by all those who had the good fortune to |
|
know him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dr. Bruce D. |
|
Krutsinger and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |
|
family: to his wife, Marsha Krutsinger; to his mother, Louise |
|
Krutsinger; to his sister, Vicki Dyer, and her husband, Bob; to his |
|
niece and nephew, Katy and Alex Dyer; to his great-niece, Delaney |
|
Dyer; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dr. Bruce |
|
Krutsinger. |
