R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes pride in
  recognizing the participants of the Chancellor's Student Advisory
  Council of The Texas A&M University System; and
         WHEREAS, The Chancellor's Student Advisory Council program
  is a part of The Texas A&M University System and is designed for men
  and women who are in the early stages of their leadership careers;
  applicants must be actively involved in their respective
  universities; and
         WHEREAS, Candidates for the program are reviewed for
  leadership integrity and effectiveness, analytical and
  communication skills, potential for growth, and vocational
  commitment; and
         WHEREAS, The goals of the program are to identify and support
  emerging leaders, to heighten their knowledge of current issues,
  and to increase their personal involvement in state and local
  activities that contribute to the growth of Texas; and
         WHEREAS, The Chancellor's Student Advisory Council consists
  of 24 student leaders from participating universities; during a
  one-year span, council members will have educational seminars
  throughout the State of Texas, and as a part of this training, the
  class is visiting the State Capitol while the legislature is in
  session to learn firsthand about the workings of state government;
  and
         WHEREAS, The members of the Chancellor's Student Advisory
  Council are devoting their time and energy to discovering how to
  solve the complex issues facing the world today, and they are indeed
  deserving of recognition for their dedication and hard work; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby welcome the members of The Texas A&M University
  System Chancellor's Student Advisory Council to the State Capitol,
  congratulate them on their selection as participants in the
  program, and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the council as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
