R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes pride in |
|
|
recognizing the participants of the Chancellor's Student Advisory |
|
|
Council of The Texas A&M University System; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Chancellor's Student Advisory Council program |
|
|
is a part of The Texas A&M University System and is designed for men |
|
|
and women who are in the early stages of their leadership careers; |
|
|
applicants must be actively involved in their respective |
|
|
universities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Candidates for the program are reviewed for |
|
|
leadership integrity and effectiveness, analytical and |
|
|
communication skills, potential for growth, and vocational |
|
|
commitment; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The goals of the program are to identify and support |
|
|
emerging leaders, to heighten their knowledge of current issues, |
|
|
and to increase their personal involvement in state and local |
|
|
activities that contribute to the growth of Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Chancellor's Student Advisory Council consists |
|
|
of 24 student leaders from participating universities; during a |
|
|
one-year span, council members will have educational seminars |
|
|
throughout the State of Texas, and as a part of this training, the |
|
|
class is visiting the State Capitol while the legislature is in |
|
|
session to learn firsthand about the workings of state government; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the Chancellor's Student Advisory |
|
|
Council are devoting their time and energy to discovering how to |
|
|
solve the complex issues facing the world today, and they are indeed |
|
|
deserving of recognition for their dedication and hard work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby welcome the members of The Texas A&M University |
|
|
System Chancellor's Student Advisory Council to the State Capitol, |
|
|
congratulate them on their selection as participants in the |
|
|
program, and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the council as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
