R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Longtime community leader and neighborhood advocate |
|
|
Willie Belle Boone has made a lasting and positive impact in the |
|
|
community of Sunnyside and District 146; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In her commitment to civic service, Ms. Boone has |
|
|
served thirty praiseworthy years as a precinct chair and election |
|
|
judge; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Boone has worked tirelessly for the advancement |
|
|
of the Democratic Party's ideals as a dedicated volunteer for |
|
|
decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Boone has further offered her time to the |
|
|
Democratic Party as the treasurer of the Harris County Democratic |
|
|
Party for six years, the treasurer of the State Democratic Party for |
|
|
four years, and a member of the State Democratic Executive |
|
|
Committee for Senate District 13 for six years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Continuing her enthusiasm for serving, Ms. Boone |
|
|
spent four years as a representative in the Texas Silver Haired |
|
|
Legislature; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Boone exemplified the admirable quality of |
|
|
initiative when she founded the Southeast Precinct Judges Council |
|
|
twenty-eight years ago, where she has served as president through |
|
|
those years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Ms. Boone has been |
|
|
supported by her loving husband, Jesse R. Boone, with whom she has |
|
|
shared 50 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Willie Belle Boone's many hours of political |
|
|
involvement and civic service embody the highest qualities of |
|
|
community leadership and advocacy; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Willie Belle Boone for her service as an |
|
|
exceptional leader in District 146 and the Sunnyside Community; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Boone as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
