R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Exchange student Vladimir Jaskevic of the Czech |
|
|
Republic is studying at Rusk High School during the 2014-2015 |
|
|
school year, and his visit helps to reinforce the bonds of |
|
|
friendship between citizens of his nation and citizens of Texas; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Just as young Texans benefit by spending time |
|
|
abroad, foreign students gain valuable insight into the history and |
|
|
culture of the Lone Star State and the United States by enjoying the |
|
|
hospitality of their host families and their Texan classmates; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The bridges of understanding that are built during |
|
|
these exchanges play a vital role in helping the next generation of |
|
|
leaders explore new ideas and learn about other cultures; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Jaskevic's visit provides a welcome opportunity |
|
|
to celebrate the intellectual curiosity and spirit of adventure |
|
|
shared by all exchange students, and it is most fitting that he |
|
|
should be acknowledged for his achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize Vladimir Jaskevic as an honorary Texan |
|
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for a rewarding and memorable |
|
|
stay in the Lone Star State; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Jaskevic as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
