R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Rio Bravo are gathering in Austin on |
|
February 18, 2015, for Rio Bravo Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1982, Rio Bravo has undergone a host |
|
of positive changes over the past 33 years; it has transformed from |
|
a colonia into an organized town of more than 4,800 residents thanks |
|
to the diligent efforts of local public servants; and |
|
WHEREAS, Rio Bravo is home to a park and a community center, |
|
and the educational needs of the community's children are met by |
|
several schools of the United Independent School District, |
|
including D. D. Hachar and Juarez-Lincoln Elementary Schools and |
|
Salvador Garcia Middle School; and |
|
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of newly elected mayor |
|
Dr. Francisco Peña, the people of Rio Bravo may look forward to |
|
building upon past accomplishments to create a secure and |
|
prosperous future as they take on the challenges and opportunities |
|
of the 21st century; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 18, 2015, as Rio Bravo Day at |
|
the State Capitol and extend to the members of the delegation |
|
sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and informative visit to |
|
Austin. |
