R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the health care community are gathering
  in Austin on February 17, 2015, in observance of Texas Trauma and
  Emergency Health Care Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to the well-being of their fellow
  citizens, the health care professionals of the Texas trauma system
  respond at a moment's notice to emergency situations, which can
  range from motor vehicle accidents and natural disasters to medical
  crises such as heart attacks and strokes; they often put their own
  lives at risk as they react with speed, compassion, and
  professionalism; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas trauma system has 286 designated trauma
  facilities, which are supported by 22 trauma service area regional
  advisory councils; more than 62,000 EMS personnel, 40,000 nurses,
  and 2,000 trauma and emergency physicians work with their
  colleagues to provide lifesaving care and vital rehabilitation
  services to the state's large and diverse population; and
         WHEREAS, When urgent medical needs arise, Texans rely
  completely on the availability of swift assistance, and it is
  indeed appropriate to recognize the vital role played in our
  society by emergency medical personnel; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize February 17, 2015, as Texas Trauma and
  Emergency Health Care Day at the State Capitol and extend to all
  those participating in this observance sincere best wishes for a
  meaningful and memorable visit.
