R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, Mike Brodie, an agent with Keller Williams Realty in |
|
|
Plano, has received the Distinguished Service Award, one of the |
|
|
highest honors bestowed by the National Association of Realtors; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Only a select few real estate agents nationwide are |
|
|
considered for this prestigious accolade, which recognizes |
|
|
individuals who have succeeded in the business for 25 years or |
|
|
longer, who have performed in leadership positions at all levels of |
|
|
the Realtor organization, and who have devoted their time and |
|
|
energy to their communities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A real estate professional with more than four |
|
|
decades of experience, Mr. Brodie currently serves on the boards |
|
|
for the National and Texas Associations of Realtors, and he is a |
|
|
board member and past president of the Collin County Association of |
|
|
Realtors; long affiliated with Keller Williams, he acts as an |
|
|
ambassador for Keller Williams International, oversaw the launch of |
|
|
the KW Luxury Homes program, and co-owns several offices across the |
|
|
country; he was previously appointed by Governor George W. Bush to |
|
|
the Texas Real Estate Commission, which he led as chair during his |
|
|
seven-year-long tenure; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Actively engaged in the wider community as well, |
|
|
Mr. Brodie is a former president of the Plano Chamber of Commerce |
|
|
and presently sits on the executive committee of Big Brothers Big |
|
|
Sisters and on the board for the Baylor University Hankamer School |
|
|
of Business; his many accolades include the Leadership Award from |
|
|
the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, the Distinguished Alumni |
|
|
Award from Grand View University, and numerous Realtor of the Year |
|
|
titles from the organizations that he has served; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mike Brodie has set a notable example of |
|
|
professional excellence, and he may reflect with great pride on his |
|
|
innumerable contributions to the real estate industry as well as on |
|
|
his long-standing commitment to his fellow citizens; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mike Brodie on his receipt of the |
|
|
Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of |
|
|
Realtors and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Brodie as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
