R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Since 1991, court appointed special advocates from
  CASA of Collin County have helped countless area children in need;
  and
         WHEREAS, CASA advocates serve as guardians ad litem, looking
  out for the best interests of children suffering from abuse or
  neglect; they are appointed by judges to watch over these children
  and to ensure that they get the attention they deserve in the often
  overburdened legal, social service, and foster care systems; in
  many instances, the volunteers are a rare source of stability in the
  lives of the young people they assist; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of the past 24 years, CASA of Collin
  County and its team of devoted volunteers have helped provide
  advocates for nearly 8,000 children; in so doing, the organization
  has continued to fulfill its mission of ensuring that 100 percent of
  vulnerable children in Collin County have a safe, permanent, and
  loving home; and
         WHEREAS, Through their compassion, dedication, and hard
  work, CASA of Collin County advocates have made a positive and
  lasting impact in the lives of children and families in their area,
  and it is indeed fitting to honor them for their commitment to the
  young people of their communities; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the members of CASA of Collin County for
  their service and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
  success with their important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for CASA of Collin County as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
