R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The Pasadena Independent School District Board of |
|
|
Trustees has been named a finalist by the 2015 H-E-B Excellence in |
|
|
Education Awards program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 2002, the initiative celebrates the |
|
|
contributions of public school professionals from across the Lone |
|
|
Star State; the Pasadena board is one of just five to be recognized |
|
|
as a finalist in the best school board in Texas category, a |
|
|
distinction that comes with a $5,000 cash prize; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of this esteemed group include Mariselle |
|
|
Quijano-Lerma, president, Vickie Morgan, vice president, Fred |
|
|
Roberts, secretary, and Marshall Kendrick, assistant secretary, as |
|
|
well as trustees Jack Bailey, Larry Savala, and Nelda Sullivan; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These dedicated public officials have demonstrated |
|
|
an outstanding commitment to academic excellence and to the future |
|
|
of their community, and they may indeed take great pride in this |
|
|
notable achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Pasadena Independent School |
|
|
District Board of Trustees on its selection as a finalist in the |
|
|
2015 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program and extend to its |
|
|
members sincere best wishes for continued success with their |
|
|
important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the board as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
