R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The Plano Chamber of Commerce has greatly benefited |
|
|
from the dynamic leadership of Al Valente in his role as chair of |
|
|
the organization's executive board; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Leadership Plano, Mr. Valente has been |
|
|
a valued member of the chamber since 2011, and he has further |
|
|
distinguished himself as chair of the Community Relations |
|
|
Commission of the City of Plano, as a member of the board of |
|
|
ParkwayHills Baptist Church, and as a committee member for the |
|
|
Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Valente holds a bachelor's degree in finance |
|
|
from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of |
|
|
Business at New York University, and he has enjoyed a successful |
|
|
career in the financial industry that has spanned two decades; he |
|
|
served as vice president of Avatar Associates in New York City and |
|
|
as second vice president of Smith Barney in New Jersey and Plano |
|
|
before cofounding the Plano-based wealth management firm Bell & |
|
|
Valente, LLC, in 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Valente is blessed with |
|
|
the love and support of his wife, Hilary; the couple are the proud |
|
|
parents of three children; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The civic spirit demonstrated by Al Valente has |
|
|
significantly contributed to the vibrancy of the Plano community, |
|
|
and his vision for a prosperous and productive future will continue |
|
|
to benefit the city's residents for years to come; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Al Valente for his dedicated service as |
|
|
chair of the executive board of the Plano Chamber of Commerce and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Valente as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
