R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected businessperson Linda A. Tovar is being |
|
|
honored as a 2015 Pillar of Success by The University of Texas-Pan |
|
|
American Alumni Association at its Alumni Ball on February 27, |
|
|
2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the UTPA Alumni Association celebrates a |
|
|
select group of distinguished alumni for their professional |
|
|
excellence and for their service to the community and their alma |
|
|
mater; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of the Rio Grande Valley, Linda Tovar |
|
|
earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from UTPA |
|
|
in 2008; she is currently H-E-B's senior manager of public affairs |
|
|
for the border region, serving as the company's spokesperson and |
|
|
overseeing its community relations and philanthropic efforts in the |
|
|
area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Tovar has also served the company as operations |
|
|
leader for the Mission No. 3 store and the McAllen No. 2 store, and |
|
|
she previously worked as director of operations for the Boys and |
|
|
Girls Clubs of McAllen; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Benefiting from the solid educational foundation |
|
|
that she received at UTPA, Linda Tovar has embarked upon a |
|
|
successful career in the business world and made a positive |
|
|
difference in her community, and she is indeed a worthy recipient of |
|
|
this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Linda A. Tovar on her selection as |
|
|
a 2015 Pillar of Success by The University of Texas-Pan American |
|
|
Alumni Association and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Tovar as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
