R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Denton Wills Jr. was honored as Officer of the Year |
|
of the Burnet County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Unit at |
|
the Hill Country 100 Club Membership/Awards Banquet on January 15, |
|
2015; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 2002, the Hill Country 100 Club provides |
|
valuable support to first responders in Central Texas; each year, |
|
the organization's awards banquet honors outstanding peace |
|
officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and support |
|
staff in Burnet, Llano, Blanco, and Lampasas Counties; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Burnet County, Denton Wills Jr. has more |
|
than two decades of experience in law enforcement; over the course |
|
of his career, he worked for the Burnet Police Department for eight |
|
years before joining the Burnet County Sheriff's Office, where he |
|
has distinguished himself as a member of the Special Operations |
|
Unit for the past five years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his dedication to duty, Denton Wills Jr. |
|
exemplifies the highest ideals of his profession and contributes |
|
immeasurably to the safety and well-being of his fellow citizens; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Denton Wills Jr. on his selection |
|
as the Hill Country 100 Club Officer of the Year for the Burnet |
|
County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Unit and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success with his important work; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Officer Wills as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
