R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert Recio and his family are reopening their |
|
|
popular Corpus Christi restaurant, Recio's Smokehouse and |
|
|
Catering, at a new location; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, At its former location on Kostoryz Road, this unique |
|
|
eatery has long been known for its mega-taco challenge; since 1999, |
|
|
hundreds of determined diners have tried to finish the restaurant's |
|
|
signature four-pound taco in 13 minutes; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Recio family are carrying on this tradition at |
|
|
the smokehouse's new location on Old Brownsville Road, where they |
|
|
have also built an outdoor stage and dance floor in order to host |
|
|
live entertainment; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Locally owned enterprises contribute greatly to the |
|
|
economic and cultural diversity of their communities, and the new |
|
|
location of Recio's Smokehouse and Catering promises to attract |
|
|
both old and new customers; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the reopening of Recio's Smokehouse |
|
|
and Catering and extend sincere best wishes to Robert Recio and his |
|
|
family for continued success in their new location; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the restaurant as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
