H.R. No. 712

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Dr. Sidney Richardson of Cameron reached an important milestone in his life with the celebration of his 90th birthday on December 31, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Born in Wichita Falls in 1924, Sidney Richardson graduated from Baylor University in 1949 and went on to earn his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School at Galveston in 1954; and

WHEREAS, After completing internships at hospitals in Austin and Smithville, Dr. Richardson moved to Cameron in 1957 to establish a private practice; through the decades, his commitment and expertise significantly benefited the lives of his patients and their families, and he has continued providing for the health needs of the community as medical director of the Milam County Health Department, a post in which he has served with great distinction for 18 years; and

WHEREAS, The husband of the late Dorothy Richardson, with whom he shared many happy years of marriage, Dr. Richardson is blessed in all his endeavors with the love and support of his four children; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Sidney Richardson has contributed immeasurably to the health and well-being of area residents, and he has earned the profound appreciation and high esteem of all who know him; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Sidney Richardson on his 90th birthday and commend him for his nearly six decades of outstanding service to his community; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Richardson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
