R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, For 40 years, Williamson County Emergency Medical |
|
|
Services has faithfully provided urgent, lifesaving care to Central |
|
|
Texas residents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Williamson County EMS was created in 1975 through a |
|
|
partnership between the county and the cities of Georgetown, Round |
|
|
Rock, Taylor, Cedar Park, and Florence; over the last four decades, |
|
|
the department's paramedics have aided more than 500,000 people, |
|
|
working proactively to find the right resource for each patient and |
|
|
following up with those who have chronic illnesses; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Starting out with 7 ambulances and 16 employees, |
|
|
Williamson County EMS originally treated around 700 people |
|
|
annually; today, the department has grown to include 18 ambulances |
|
|
and 146 employees who administer treatment to approximately 25,000 |
|
|
individuals each year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Williamson County EMS is a leader in its field, |
|
|
earning numerous accolades for its commitment to quality care; in |
|
|
2003, the group was honored with the Paramedic Emergency Medical |
|
|
Service of the Year Award from the National Association of |
|
|
Emergency Medical Technicians, and in 2014, the Texas Department of |
|
|
State Health Services recognized the exceptional efforts of |
|
|
directors Kenny Schnell and Dr. Jeff Jarvis; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its inception, Williamson County EMS has |
|
|
demonstrated unwavering dedication to the health and well-being of |
|
|
area citizens, and its work has benefited the greater community in |
|
|
myriad ways; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Williamson County Emergency Medical |
|
|
Services on the 40th anniversary of its founding and extend to all |
|
|
those responsible for the department's operations sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Williamson County Emergency Medical Services as an |
|
|
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
