R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Berry "Butch" Crudgington received the Lifetime |
|
Achievement Award from the Brady Chamber of Commerce in 2015 for his |
|
highly successful tenure as the director of the Famed Brady Bulldog |
|
Band; and |
|
WHEREAS, An alumnus of Tarleton State University, |
|
Mr. Crudgington became the band director at Brady High School in |
|
1986; under the influence of his expert guidance, the Famed Brady |
|
Bulldog Band regularly marched in U.I.L. competitions, continuing |
|
its long tradition as one of the premier high school music programs |
|
in Texas; this respected educator led the band to numerous |
|
victories during the course of his career, including an |
|
extraordinary 21 consecutive Sweepstakes Awards; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to his students and to his community, |
|
Mr. Crudgington continued his exemplary work at Brady High School |
|
until his retirement in 2014, despite the determined efforts of |
|
many schools to lure him away; in addition to his responsibilities |
|
at the high school, he taught music classes at Central Texas |
|
College; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his inspiring leadership and commitment to |
|
excellence, Butch Crudgington embodied the highest standards of his |
|
profession over the course of nearly three decades, and he has |
|
earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Berry "Butch" Crudgington on his receipt |
|
of the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Brady Chamber of |
|
Commerce and commend him for his many years of outstanding service |
|
as director of the Famed Brady Bulldog Band; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Crudgington as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
