R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Captain Brett Baker Flagg Jr. of Frisco has rendered
  outstanding service to his nation as a member of the United States
  Army; and
         WHEREAS, A 2006 graduate of Trinity Christian Academy in
  Addison, where he was a National Merit Finalist, this gifted young
  man earned an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West
  Point; during his time at the academy, he completed Airborne School
  and Air Assault School and received the Superintendent's Award for
  Achievement; he also served as an intern with the President's
  Council of Economic Advisors; and
         WHEREAS, Following his graduation from West Point in 2010,
  Brett Flagg was commissioned as a second lieutenant; he served in
  Afghanistan as a cavalry scout platoon leader from July 2012 to
  March 2013, earning the Bronze Star, and in 2014, he was promoted to
  captain; and
         WHEREAS, Captain Flagg is currently stationed at Fort Hood,
  where he serves as squadron logistics officer with the 6th
  Squadron, 9th U.S. Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry
  Division; and
         WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to those
  men and women who take up arms in the defense of our nation, and
  Captain Brett Flagg has earned special distinction for his
  patriotism, his professionalism, and his devotion to duty; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Captain Brett Baker Flagg Jr. for his
  exemplary service in the U.S. Army and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success and a bright future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Captain Flagg as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
