R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Captain Brett Baker Flagg Jr. of Frisco has rendered |
|
outstanding service to his nation as a member of the United States |
|
Army; and |
|
WHEREAS, A 2006 graduate of Trinity Christian Academy in |
|
Addison, where he was a National Merit Finalist, this gifted young |
|
man earned an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West |
|
Point; during his time at the academy, he completed Airborne School |
|
and Air Assault School and received the Superintendent's Award for |
|
Achievement; he also served as an intern with the President's |
|
Council of Economic Advisors; and |
|
WHEREAS, Following his graduation from West Point in 2010, |
|
Brett Flagg was commissioned as a second lieutenant; he served in |
|
Afghanistan as a cavalry scout platoon leader from July 2012 to |
|
March 2013, earning the Bronze Star, and in 2014, he was promoted to |
|
captain; and |
|
WHEREAS, Captain Flagg is currently stationed at Fort Hood, |
|
where he serves as squadron logistics officer with the 6th |
|
Squadron, 9th U.S. Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry |
|
Division; and |
|
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to those |
|
men and women who take up arms in the defense of our nation, and |
|
Captain Brett Flagg has earned special distinction for his |
|
patriotism, his professionalism, and his devotion to duty; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Captain Brett Baker Flagg Jr. for his |
|
exemplary service in the U.S. Army and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success and a bright future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Captain Flagg as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
