R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Leticia Gonzalez celebrated her 10th anniversary as
  president of the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce in October 2014, and
  this milestone provides a fitting opportunity to celebrate her many
  years of dedicated service to Hidalgo County and its business
  community; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Edinburg, Letty Gonzalez grew up in
  Monte Alto and attended Edcouch-Elsa High School; and
         WHEREAS, She began her career with the Edinburg Chamber of
  Commerce as an office clerk in 1988, and, drawing on the life
  lessons she learned from her grandmother, she overcame her shyness
  and set out to seize the opportunities that came her way; she went
  on to excel at every position in the chamber, including secretary to
  the assistant manager, office manager, and director of membership;
  and
         WHEREAS, Today, this dynamic leader is president of the
  450-member Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and the Edinburg Convention
  and Visitors Bureau; her responsibilities include making
  recommendations to the board of directors, managing a full-time
  staff, motivating volunteers, overseeing the budget and membership
  maintenance, and interpreting policy; and
         WHEREAS, In addition, Ms. Gonzalez serves as the voice of
  Edinburg's business community, speaking with the press, working
  with The University of Texas-Pan American and the Edinburg Economic
  Development Council on civic improvements, and leading tours of the
  chamber's office, a former depot of the Southern Pacific Railroad;
  and
         WHEREAS, Blessed with a devoted and loving family,
  Ms. Gonzalez is supported in her endeavors by her husband, Anselmo,
  and their sons, J. J., Jeremy, Jacob, Mark, and Erick; and
         WHEREAS, For nearly three decades, Letty Gonzalez has
  contributed immeasurably to both the business community and the
  people of Hidalgo County, and she may indeed take great pride in her
  well-deserved reputation as one of Edinburg's most esteemed
  citizens; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Leticia Gonzalez on her 27 years of
  outstanding service to the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and extend
  to her sincere best wishes for continued success in her important
  work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
